Day 2 of selling at New Zealand Bloodstock’s 2019 Ready to Run Sale of Two-Year-Olds saw 257 lots go under the hammer.

Huge Updates to Ready to Run Sale Catalogue

Spring in Melbourne is one of world racing’s greatest stages, and the results of this year’s carnival have given a massive boost to the catalogue for this week’s New Zealand Bloodstock Ready to Run Sale of Two-Year-Olds at Karaka.

The catalogue features relatives to the winners of some of the carnival’s biggest prizes – the Group One Melbourne Cup (3200m), Cox Plate (2040m) and VRC Oaks (2500m).

Ready to Run Graduate Claims Valuable Stakes Win

Ticket To Ride (NZ) (Shocking), who was offered at the 2014 Ready to Run Sale, capped her racing career with a valuable black-type win in Wednesday’s $80,000 Group 3 Valachi Downs Canterbury Breeders’ Stakes (1400m) at Riccarton.

Offered by Millfield Stud, Ticket To Ride was passed in with a $30,000 reserve.

2019 Breeze Up Videos Online Now

The annual Breeze Ups saw 369 two-year-olds gallop down the home straight of Te Rapa Racecourse, with their last 200 metres of work filmed and timed. Once again, NZB’s Ready to Run Sale vendors presented their horses in a professional manner reflecting the high quality of thoroughbreds on offer at the Sale.  

All Breeze Up videos are now available online. Each heat is recorded in high definition, the quality will automatically scale based on your internet connection and device. The video clips can also be downloaded from Vimeo or viewed in ‘Couch Mode’ which plays all clips from start to finish.

Smart Breeze Up Finale 

Day 2 saw the final 181 two-year-olds sprint down the straight of Te Rapa Racecourse, concluding the NZB Ready to Run Sale Breeze Ups.

Following on from yesterday’s Dead 5 track conditions, the rail was moved in 4 metres and the track remaind a Dead 6 throughout the day.

Day One a Breeze for Quality 2YOs

Day One of the New Zealand Bloodstock Ready to Run Sale Breeze Ups saw 188 two-year-olds charge down the final straight of Te Rapa Racecourse.

Kolding (NZ) Heads Huge New Zealand Result in Epsom

Saturday’s time-honoured and prestigious A$1 million Group 1 TAB Epsom (1600m) at Randwick turned into an all-Kiwi affair.

Kolding (NZ) (Ocean Park) and Te Akau Shark (NZ) (Rip Van Winkle), who fought out a stirring finish down the Randwick straight, are both Karaka graduates, while fellow New Zealand-bred Star of the Seas (NZ) (Ocean Park) finished third.

Karaka Trifecta in Stutt Stakes

Graduates of New Zealand Bloodstock Sales dominated the finish of Friday’s A$200,000 Group 2 MSC Signs Stutt Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley.

The Holy One (NZ) (Tavistock), Vegas Knight (Declaration of War) and Conqueror (Fastnet Rock) were the only three Karaka graduates in the field for the three-year-old feature, and they finished first, second and third.
