Mid Point Of Filly Of The Year An Opportunity To Close On Taatletail

The Group 3 Robertson Holden Eulogy Stakes (1600m) at the Manawatu Racing Club on Saturday marks the fifth of 10 special legs of the prestigious 2003-04 New Zealand Bloodstock Filly of the Year Series.

The Series is currently headed by special filly Taatletail (Faltaat x Defensive Lady) who is absent from Saturday's field, leaving an opportunity for other smart fillies to obtain some valuable points and close on her lead.

The closest challenger to Taatletail, who has 24 points in the Series, is the Vanessa and Wayne Hillis trained filly Kainui Belle (Kashani x Lady Ukiah) who is currently second on the Filly of the Year points table with 7 points. Kainui Belle ran a close second to Taatletail in the Group 1 New Zealand Bloodstock 1000 Guineas at Christchurch last month.

Two other fillies in Saturday's field who have points in the New Zealand Bloodstock Filly of the Year Series include the Paul Harris trained Unearthed (Felix the Cat x Minsky), who has 3.5 points and the Dick & Chris Bothwell trained Danette (Danske x Amynette), who has 3 points.

Other starters on Saturday looking to get their first points in the Series include, Classic Clare (Gold Brose x Funny Features), Wharite Princess (His Royal Highness x Regal Visit), Dowry (Bahhare x Meant For Me), Kashilldo (Kashani x Jude's Pride), Our Kitty (Tale of the Cat x My Girl Elise), Azapak (Volksraad x Azabeel), Life Time (Desert Style x Durga Mai), Supa Strike (Straight Strike x Catamaria), Vel Canto (Danasinga x Donna's Gold), Sosweetsofine (Grosvenor x Human Touch) and Goodgollymissmolly (O'Reilly x Lucky Venture).

3rd � 1.5 points
