Mercedes Super Bonus Series Set To Kick Off This Saturday

Race Two on the card, the Lindauer Fraise Juvenile (880m) has a field of 11 2YOs with four runners eligible to win the $10,000 Mercedes Super Bonus on top of the $27,500 race prize purse.
Only three runners in the field have lined up on raceday so far, with two of these eligible for the bonus. They are the Graeme Rogerson and Stephen Autridge trained Sharka Zulu (Lion Hunter x High Twinkle), and Mark Walker trained Kapsdan (Kaapstad x Danaselvam). Kapsdan had her first start and first win at Pukekohe two weeks ago and Sharka Zulu ran second at his first start at Wanganui at the end of August.
The two other eligible runners in the field are first starters Sheka (Sandtrap x Lynsu) trained by John Sargent and Karl Allpress and Miss Rose Sapphire (Fuji Kiseki x Galopede) trained by Graeme Sanders and Debbie Sweeney.
This year's Series carries up to $1.4million in prizemoney and includes the richest 2YO race in New Zealand, the Mercedes Classique which has a prize purse of $500,000, to be run on 31 January 2004 at the Waikato Racing Club.
