Unrivalled Ready to Run Sale Launches 2019 Catalogue OnlineFriday, Sep 13, 2019
The countdown is underway to Australasia’s leading two-year-old sale, with the catalogue now released for the 2019 New Zealand Bloodstock Ready to Run Sale of Two-Year-Olds.
Over the last six seasons, graduates of NZB’s Ready to Run Sale have scored an unrivalled 19 Group One wins. The next best 2YO Sale in Australasia recorded one.
The Sale is a remarkable source of Derby winners, with five victories in those blue-riband events in the last four years alone. Mongolian Khan (Holy Roman Emperor) won the New Zealand Derby and Australian Derby in 2015, while Gingernuts (NZ) (Iffraaj) and Vin de Dance (NZ) (Roc de Cambes) also won the New Zealand Derby and Well Done (NZ) (Falkirk) captured the Singapore Derby.
The Sale has also unveiled spectacular sprinting talent, with Beat The Clock (Hinchinbrook) scoring scintillating victories in last season’s Group One Centenary Sprint Cup and Chairman’s Sprint Prize.
Fellow alumni Turn Me Loose (NZ) (Iffraaj) was another star short-course performer, while Te Akau Shark (NZ) (Rip Van Winkle) is New Zealand’s rising star sprinter-miler and is among the leading contenders for the Group One Epsom Handicap in Sydney in October.
The Sale has also produced an impressive 13 Guineas victors in the past six seasons, whose wins include the Group One Rosehill Guineas, Group One Two Thousand Guineas (twice) and the Singapore Guineas (three-times).
The 2019 edition of the Ready to Run Sale will be held at Karaka on 20 and 21 November, with a quality catalogue of 414 two-year-olds set to go under the hammer. The catalogue is now available to be viewed online, with printed catalogues arriving in letterboxes late September.
Buyers will have the opportunity to secure expertly prepared bloodstock, with 107 of Australasia’s finest stallions represented in the catalogue.
Along with 18 two-year-olds by New Zealand’s undisputed stallion supremo Savabeel, there are also the progeny of other leading New Zealand-based sires such as Darci Brahma, Iffraaj, Ocean Park, Per Incanto, Swiss Ace and Tavistock, plus the highly successful former shuttle stallions Showcasing and Makfi.
Star Australian-based stallions featured in the catalogue include Dundeel, Fastnet Rock, Medaglia d’Oro, More Than Ready, Zoustar and exciting up-and-comers such as Deep Field, Dissident, Pride of Dubai and Vancouver.
This year’s catalogue is stacked with high-class pedigree credentials.
There are siblings to 47 stakes winners, such as last season’s champion New Zealand two-year-old Yourdeel and the Group One-winning stars Sacred Falls and Werther, plus fellow Group One winners Pondarosa Miss, Boom Time, MacO’Reilly and Quintessential. There is also a half-brother to Cooga Doon, a recent nine-length winner of the Wanganui Guineas. The catalogue also features the progeny of 31 stakes winners, headed by Group One mares Banchee, Costume and Pondarosa Miss.
Added benefits feature the eligibility to compete for four bonus schemes including the $1M Karaka Million 2YO and the $1M Karaka Million 3YO Classic.
There are 27 Karaka Million Series eligible horses, eleven fillies nominated for the Pearl Series, 76 BOBS eligible horses, and 15 Super VOBIS nominated horses.
