International performances since NZB’s Karaka May Sale catalogue went to print have provided timely updates to a large number of horses entered for the Sale on 7 and 8 May.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club played host to Champions Day last weekend and our very own Beauty Generation (NZ) (Road to Rock), sold by Highden Park as a yearling for $60,000, rose to the occasion claiming the first Group 1 of the day.

He delivered an outstanding performance to win the Champions Mile and his third Group 1 of the Hong Kong season, while also boosting the pedigree of his three-quarter sister. Mana Park have catalogued the weanling filly by Road to Rock at Lot 75.

The Oaks Stud, Cambridge Stud and Wentwood Grange have also received an injection of Group 1 winners into their drafts at the Sale. Hiyaam (NZ) (High Chaparral) won the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes and backed it up with a second in the Group 1 Australian Oaks.

The Oaks Stud are offering a broodmare from the same family at Lot 386; Artemis has been served by Darci Brahma, while Cambridge Stud have catalogued Passion Cut in the broodmare session at Lot 468; the well-related mare has been served by Tavistock.

Last start Group 1 winner Hellbent (I am Invincible) features on the pedigree page of Wentwood Grange’s Lot 174; a weanling colt by Mapperley Stud’s freshman sire Complacent. The colt is also from the same family as Indecision (NZ) (Per Incanto) who recently scored her first black-type win.

Another 10 individual Group 1 performers have boosted 15 lots across the Sale.
