Group 1 2000 Guineas winner Embellish (NZ) is among significant pedigree updates at Karaka 2018.

A flurry of winning performances have boosted the appeal of numerous yearlings catalogued in the upcoming National Yearling Sales Series at Karaka which commences on Sunday 28.

The Fastnet Rock colt Age of Fire enhanced his future stallion value when he triumphed in the Group 1 Levin Classic, his third win from only six appearances, and provided a timely update to the full sister Lot 172 who will be offered as part of Hallmark Stud’s draft.

Boxing Day races at Ellerslie saw stable favourite Authentic Paddy (NZ) (Howbaddouwantit) claim his first Group 1 victory in the Zabeel Classic after having previously placed in five Group 1 features. The deserved win brings his half-sister Lot 47 added appeal as she gets set to go through the ring under Goodwood Stud’s banner.

Proven Hong Kong star and kiwi-bred Werther (NZ) (Tavistock) has won two Group 1 features, and added to his standout performance when he placed second in the Group 1 Hong Kong Cup. His younger brother Gobstopper has come to his best form this season with a bold front-running victory in the Gr.3 New Zealand Cup, and Highden Park will offer the younger full sister at Lot 48.
