Select Sale graduate Kiss Me Ketut (NZ) (Danroad) scored her first stakes win when she took out Sunday’s A$125,000 Group 3 Armidale Stud Vamos Stakes (1400m) at Launceston.

Ridden by Boris Thornton for trainer Matthew Brown, the six-year-old mare went straight to the front from her inside gate and was never caught, winning the fillies and mares’ feature by half a length.

It was a career highlight for Kiss Me Ketut’s young connections, with Thornton only 19 years of age and Brown four years older.

Kiss Me Ketut was bred by the Hong Kong Breeders Club Ltd. She is a sibling to six winners including the Listed winners Fast Love (NZ) (Fastnet Rock) and A Chance To Dream (Volksraad).

She was offered by Highview at the 2012 Select Sale, where Mr SJ Theodore bought her for $95,000.

Kiss Me Ketut has now raced 44 times for eight wins, eight placings and prizemoney of A$285,690 for her owners Browns & Kirks (Mgr: S D Brown) and JR Lark.
